Here we are in the fifth week of Lent. At this point, fasting can begin to feel heavy, even if itโs a becoming more routine. If youโre like me, you started off strong and enthusiastic, but now itโs starting to feel like a long road of discipline; as if each step is both numbing and exhausting. This is often where the deepest spiritual growth comes from. Just remember that your hunger during this season is not just an absence of comfort, but a chance to remember that your life is truly sustained by God.
As Easter draws closer, my hope is that your focus stays clear. Iโm praying that the distractions you have might still be held back, even as every small restraint becomes a more challenging act of worship. Remember, weโre going after this because worldly satisfaction is nothing when compared to our communion with God.
So if you feel tired in this fifth week, keep seeking God. Lent is meant to stretch our souls, but it is also still preparing for the next thing. The discipline you are practicing now will turn to joy when Easter arrives. Stay faithful in the small sacrifices and keep your eyes on Christ. Resurrection is coming...
In Christ,
PD
