You never know what the Lord is going to do.
When I started this season of fasting before Easter, I knew that my humanity was a subject God would address. I didn’t know my fast would be so challenging. I didn’t know my communication of a Lenten fast would be difficult. I didn’t know my dad would have a couple of TIAs (mini-strokes) and would be in the hospital for a week (and counting). I didn’t know my brother and I would have such in-depth conversations about the struggles of ministry and parenthood and life in general.
At this point though, I understand that I am distinctly, undeniably, and vulnerably human.
I wonder how God has revealed your humanity to you over the last 4 weeks. Is hunger a challenge? Is there a hard decision you need to make? Are you going through a season that you just can’t wait to put behind you? Yeah, that’s human.
Sometimes being a human is awful, but fortunately there is a good God walking beside us. That’s something I just can’t let go of, no matter how other things go. And that is true for each of us.
In Christ,
PD
