The Weekend

Why would anyone do this? The weekend is so much harder. With so much more free time, how are we supposed to stay not hungry? Well, we donโ€™t. Itโ€™s okay to be more hungry. Although, if youโ€™re like me, you might be starting to get used to things.

    In Isaiah 58:6, Isaiah asks:

โ€œIs not this the fast that I choose:

to loose the bonds of wickedness,

to undo the straps of the yoke,

to let the oppressed go free,

    and to break every yoke?

He was fasting for a nation in sin - sounds like a lot of pressure! For me, Iโ€™m just trying to work on myself and seek the Lord in how to better lead one of His churches. I sure feel bad for Isaiah...

Iโ€™m also starting to get very comfortable in my own flesh so to speak. I can see my humanity so much better, and God is using it to change some things. I feel much less offendable and Iโ€™m trying to figure out why that is. I donโ€™t think itโ€™s just that Iโ€™m too hungry to care - as I said, Iโ€™m not that hungry. All I can say, is the Lord is working. Iโ€™m starting to think every time I start to feel too important or little things start to bother me, I should set aside a day or two to fast. Those seek like a really nice yoke to get rid of.

I hope you guys are starting to feel some changes from God. I donโ€™t know what they might be, but I pray that they are good.

    In Christ,

    PD
